Hugo Valentine is a singer-songwriter from London, UK. He has played the piano since the age of four and had a classical training during his early childhood. Having spent time working in many different areas of music, he eventually moved into the pop world.

His influences include Coldplay, Elton John, Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and Tom Odell, to name but a few. He has performed at a number of festivals including Camp Festival, The Big Feastival, Glastonbury, Chris Evans’ Carfest, Tom Kerridge’s Pub In The Park and Hampton Court Palace Festival to warm up for Tom Jones. He has played headline shows at London venues such as 229 The Venue, Paper Dress Vintage and The Phoenix Artists Club and he performs with a band full of Ed James Jordan on drums, Jimmy Green on guitar, Curtis Lavender on the bass and Char Lubbock on backing vocals.

Hugo’s last few singles have together amassed over 650 thousand streams on Spotify alone, and he has begun to cause quite the stir on the London music scene. He works with producer Henrik R. Fossum – Henrik is a world class drummer, producer and mix engineer, as well as guitarist, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist. Hugo and Henrik have cooked up a series of singles together which will be rolling out over the next few months, with a few surprises in store.

Hugo’s music is awash with beautiful piano melodies and accomplished playing, and his style is nestled comfortably in the regions of both pop and soul, with a singer-songwriter-esque approach to writing. Hugo has a penchant for big choruses and grand, uplifting harmonies, whilst always bringing a strong dose of ‘light and shade’ to his music. Having trained at the Royal College of Music in his formative years, Hugo’s beginnings were deeply rooted in the disciplines classical music, and this shows in his solid and accomplished brand of songwriting.
